One of those days

So many people who do read this blog are probably wondering why hasn't she responded to her blog in 6 months. Well, this blog was written and used as a class assignment in my Library Science degree. I am now thinking maybe this will be a great place to express my "thoughts" as the title is "A Penny For Your Thoughts."

So the title of this blog is yes, "One of Those Days" as yes, it has been one frustrating day. I started out my day forcing myself to get up (under the covers seemed to be a much warmer environment!). I enjoyed a cup of coffee with a friend to talk about matters relating to my part time employment which has been rather confusing lately. After the coffee, I drove to my public library in which I volunteer. Currently, I am in Phase II as I call it, of a project I have been working on since last October. Being a public library, updating local organization and agency information has not been a priority so that has been my undertaking. I have since updated all information contained in the notebook that the library has and more. I am now currently entering all information into a Word Document with a Subject Heading for use at the Reference Desk.

Well, upon arriving and gathering the materials that I needed, I proceeded to the computer only to find the disk I had been saving my work on was gone. So I searched the box, the folder, and all computers that I used the previous time I was there. Nothing. I went to the reference desk and spoke to the Reference Librarian who is overseeing my work and we checked the Circ Desk. Nothing. I even checked the shelf where my materials are placed in the Reference desk, no luck. Not much could be done, so I went into the Volunteer Coordinator's office where I ususally do my work on the extra computer and begin to pull up the hard copy. Unfortunately, the copy only had the A's (I was half way through the C's!). So I started working, again, in tears.

The Volunteer Coordinator came in for the day and asked me what was wrong, so I mumbled it and she asked if we checked the Lost & Found at the Circ Desk, to which I mumbled, yes. Well, she went and checked again, and what a relief - SHE FOUND IT!!! She got the biggest hug ever from me and she will be getting the biggest cup of Machioto(I'm not sure how to spell it) I can find in Carlisle when I go back on Friday!!!

What a relief. All that hard work and I really thought it was gone. So if you are having or have had one those days, don't worry, there are people out there who will brighten it!
